Three persons allegedly involved in forging documents pertaining to vehicle registration and Delhi Transport Authoritys smart cards,among others,have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police. Three stolen luxury cars,which had forged papers and fake number plates,have been seized,police said on Thursday.
Initially,Mohammed Aslam,resident of Indira Puri in UP,was apprehended from Majnu Ka Tila on June 28. A black Scorpio,which was stolen from Jalandhar in Punjab,and forged documents were recovered, said Ashok Chand,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Railways).
His arrest led to subsequent arrests enabling the police to identify the nexus.
During interrogation,Aslam provided information about two more vehicles a silver-coloured Scorpio and a white Bolero which were recovered from Mawana in Uttar Pradesh,police said.
The Scorpio was stolen from Chandigarh the Bolero from Rajouri Garden in Delhi and the documents of both the vehicles were found forged.
Aslam also said he had procured forged documents from one Intzar,a resident of Sangam Vihar in Loni,UP. Based on this information,a trap was laid and on July 2 and Intzar was arrested.
Intzar said he had procured the forged documents from Ramesh Kumar alias Manni,who was arrested on July 4 near Ghaziabad. During a search of Mannis premises,a computer,scanner,printer,ink and raw materials used for preparing forged documents were recovered, said Chand.
Police also found forged No Entry Permission of Delhi Traffic Police,registration certificates of vehicles,Delhi University mark-sheets and other incriminating material.
