Youtuber TTF Vasan injured while performing bike stunt, police books case for rash driving

The Baluchetty Chatram police have booked Vasan under sections 297, and 337 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

A video of Vasan attempting a wheelie on his bike and then being thrown off the highway onto the bushes after losing control has been shared widely on social media.

YouTube vlogger and motorist TTF Vasan, who has previously been booked for rash driving, was injured Sunday after his bike stunt on the Chennai-Bengaluru highway went wrong.

A video of Vasan being thrown off the bike on the highway and onto the bushes has been shared widely on social media. He had reportedly lost control of the bike while attempting to do a wheelie, a manoeuvre in which the front wheel of the two-wheeler is raised off the road for a brief period.

According to sources, Vasan and his friends were on a trip to Maharashtra and Vasan met with an accident while passing through the stretch of the highway near Kancheepuram’s Baluchetty Chatram village. As per the CCTV footage, the accident took place on Sunday at 4.32 pm. Vasan was admitted to a nearby private hospital by onlookers.

The YouTuber has been called out repeatedly for rash driving in the past, and has cases filed against him for violating traffic guidelines.

Netizens slammed the biker for driving at such a high speed on a highway, which poses a danger not only for him but also others who commute on the road. They pointed out that the risky stunts that the vlogger performs on roads could potentially influence his mostly-young adult followers to imitate such behaviour, leading to fatal injuries.

Vasan is set to play the lead role in the upcoming movie ‘Manjal Veeran’.

The Baluchetty Chatram police have booked Vasan under section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
