Sundar, on her part, said that the Congress workers’ behaviour and actions show how much they “actually respect women”. “You are burning an effigy, you are hitting my picture with broomstick or slippers, or throwing cow dung at my face, I mean that shows how much you actually respect women,” she told reporters.

She went on to say that the Congress doesn’t stand up when there are atrocities being committed against the Dalit community, and cited examples of when the party did not take a stand. “If after 37 years, you still need a Khushbu to gain some kind of two minutes of fame, then I look at myself and say ‘I have done well’,” she added.
This is what DMK goons do. Use a foul language. But this is what they are taught. To insult a woman. Sorry can’t speak your cheri language but I would suggest wake up and look what was spoken and action taken. A controversy erupted after Khushbu allegedly used derogatory language while responding to a DMK activist on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). She had said, “This is what DMK goons do. Use a foul language. But this is what they are taught. To insult a woman. Sorry can’t speak your cheri language but I would suggest wake up and look what was spoken and action taken. And if DMK does not teach you about laws, then shame on you being a lawyer and shame on your leader for having idiots like you around him. (sic)”
She was criticised for her use of the word ‘cheri’ which is the Tamil word for slums or ghettos. She later justified her remark, claiming that her tweet was “laced with sarcasm”, and that she had used the word ‘cheri’ as it is used in the French language.
How funny to see an outrage from a bunch of selective crowd over my language in my tweet. The same are mute spectators to an outrage of women modesty. Would like to educate the educated illiterates a little about it. My tweet is laced with sarcasm. 'Cheri' is a word in French… pic.twitter.com/xVifEuTuz8

“‘Cheri’ is a word in French that means beloved or loved, It was used in that context to show the troll from goons party that i share love, (sic)” she wrote on X, and called those who were outraging over her language as “educated illiterates”.
“I have always been proud of the values instilled in me by my mother. I am someone who has always been in the forefront for the rights of underprivileged. Discrimination is in your dirty heads when you jump to conclusions without applying your minds,” she added.
Several political outfits and organisations in Tamil Nadu had condemned Khushbu’s remark, with the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) Scheduled Caste wing head Ranjan Kumar demanding an apology from her.
