Worker electrocuted

One person was electrocuted and another sustained burn injuries while they were rectifying a streetlight at the Hindustan Petroleum petrol pump in Sector 39 on Tuesday.

One person was electrocuted and another sustained burn injuries while they were rectifying a streetlight at the Hindustan Petroleum petrol pump in Sector 39 on Tuesday. According to the police,Hardev Singh,a contractor,was entrusted to look after the maintenance of the electrical parts of the petrol pump. His workers,Ramdas and Mangat Ram,were moving an iron ladder to fix the streetlight when the ladder came in contact with the overhead electric wires. Ramdas died on the spot whereas Mangat Ram is struggling for life at the PGI. The contractor has been arrested and a case of negligence registered against him.
