The body of a 34-year-old woman was found dumped at Morni T-Point on Thursday night. Identified as Rakesh Kumari,alias Shikha Thakur,she had been reported missing by her brother the same night in Chandigarh. Her body was found by the Panchkula Police with her head crushed. The post-mortem report,however,suggested that she died of strangulation.
A resident of Panjab University Residential Colony,Shikha worked with a property dealer in Sector 40. On Thursday morning,she left for work around 10 am but did not return till 11 pm. It was then that her brother lodged a missing report. She is survived by her 10-year-old son.
A passerby discovered the body,and informed the police.
The body was found mutilated with the head crushed. From the post-mortem report,it was established that the deceased was strangulated and later her head was crushed, said Inspector Arvind,SHO,Chandimandir Police Station. A case o fmurder has been registered and three persons detained for questioning.
