Police busted a gang of inter-state robbers with the arrest of two people from Sector 19 on April 6. According to the police,two members of the notorious gang of dacoits were arrested by the Crime Investigating Agency (CIA) of the Panchkula police,while hunt was on for three other accused.
Identifying the two accused as Lal Singh and Shankar Dass,police said that the duo was involved in a number of theft case in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Panchkula-Ambala range police commissioner Rajbir Deswal said that Dass was wanted in many cases of robbery in Himachal Pardesh.
Besides gold jewelery worth Rs 90,000,country-made pistols were also recovered from the possession of the accused,police said.
Police officials said the accused were arrested during night patrolling on April 6 from Sector 19,after they received information that two boys were conspiring to carry out a loot in Industrial Area. CIA staff raided the spot and apprehended the accused. Police have booked the duo under the Arms Act at the Sector-20 police station.
