‘Will chalk out integrated security plan for Chandigarh railway station’

The recent rail budget has finally managed to jolt the authorities at the Chandigarh railway station into wakefulness.

“Besides making the station a world-class facility,there is a proposal to chalk out an integrated security plan for the station,which will include comprehensive monitoring of the station,scanning of luggage and vehicles and an elaborate explosive detection system,” said Divisional Railway Manager H K Jaggi.

“Also,the large hoardings at the station give it a shabby look. We plan to put them in an organised manner as part of the project,” he added.
