Whistle stop

There are few Indian television buffs who can forget the first season of Bigg Boss, which was hosted by Arshad Warsi.

Bigg Boss,Big News

There are few Indian television buffs who can forget the first season of Bigg Boss, which was hosted by Arshad Warsi. Ever since, the celebrities hosting the show have been getting bigger. After Shilpa Shetty, the Big Brother UK winner of 2007,the show had Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan as hosts. The next season, which will take off later this year, will pair Salman with one of his best buds,Sanjay Dutt. Having two big stars on the show means shelling out close to Rs 7-9 crore every time the hosts appear. However, with the duo —known for their off-screen tantrums — hosting Bigg Boss, the housemates are likely to become secondary since the drama may shift to the sets.

Heroine By Nature

The self-proclaimed diva of Bollywood,Kareena Kapoor is emerging as the choicest actor of filmmakers. After Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan’s pregnancy,Madhur Bhandarkar is said to have reverted to his original choice for Heroine. More than the director,it is the production house UTV that is keen to have her on board. Kareena is giving the script a hear in Hyderabad, where she is holidaying with Saif Ali Khan.

The actor has also scheduled a meeting with Balaji Motion Pictures, which is keen to cast her as the leading lady opposite Akshay Kumar for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’s sequel. With her five films opposite as many Khans underway, signing on the dotted line for these projects may well leave all her contemporaries behind.

Bappi Lahiri’s Fantasy

The one musician who defines the music of the late 1980s’ Bollywood cinema,Bappi Lahiri,is back with his signature sound. The singer-composer,who brought disco to India, will be singing for Milan Luthria’s The Dirty Picture. The song, however, will take the listeners back in time since the film is based in 1980s. The song, titled Ooh La La Tu Hai Meri Fantasy has been written by Rajat Arora and composed by Vishal-Shekhar. Bappida has earlier sung Mumbai Nagariya for Milan’s Taxi No 9211.
