Two students of Panjab University were booked in an attempt to commit suicide case after they sat on a hunger strike.
A S Ahluwalia,Dean Student Welfare said that Sunny and Ravinder Mehta have been on a strike without any reason,The two were unnecessarily raising issues related to diet charges in PU hostels and Student Centre despite the Janta Meal scheme,where meals are provided at nominal rates.
After making repeated requests and checking their medical report,a complaint was filed with the police. The families of the students have been informed. The two were booked for attempt to commit suicide on the complaint of P K Dhawan,Chief of University Security.
Both the students were admitted to Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH-16).
