The Haryana Police showered its full courtesies on the VIP complainant this week,when cricketer Harbhajan Singh’s bag got stolen on national highway-1 in Karnal district. The force swiftly constituted five special teams to trace the bag. Obviously,results were remarkable. The bag was recovered within 12 hours of it getting stolen. This was not the end. While the procedure demands that the recovered property be kept in the Malkhana of the concerned police station and complainant be informed to come to the police station,identify the recovered articles and then get them released from the court,the police dispatched a team of officers the very next morning to New Delhi. The team not only handed over the bag to Harbhajan at his doorstep,but also got all formalities cleared. If this was the efficiency levels of the police in case of common complainants as well,the crime scenario in the state would have been extremely different.
