UT withdraws Section144

Protests continued in different parts of the city with residents extending their support to Anna Hazare. Candle light marches were held at various places with resident welfare associations and traders extending support. The UT Administration,meanwhile revoked Section 144 (which bans an assembly of five or more persons,taking out processions,making speeches,raising slogans,etc). While the Administration had earlier imposed Section 144 till August 22,with Hazare being given permission to protest in Delhi,the ban was revoked.
