UT Traffic Police issues advisory in view of Home Minister’s visit

The Chandigarh Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory announcing temporary restrictions and diversions on major city roads on December 19 and 20 in view of the visit of Home Minister Amit Shah.

Special arrangements are aimed at ensuring smooth movement of the minister’s convoy and maintaining law and order during the high-profile visit.

According to the advisory, on December 19, traffic will be regulated on Dakshin Marg from Airport Light Point to Tribune Chowk; on Purv Marg from Tribune Chowk to Transport Light Point; on Madhya Marg from Transport Light Point to Fun Republic Light Point towards Panchkula side from 9 pm to 10 pm.

Similarly, on December 20, traffic will be regulated on Madhya Marg from Fun Republic Light Point to Transport Light Point; on Purv Marg from Transport Light Point to Tribune Chowk; and on Dakshin Marg from Tribune Chowk up to Airport Light Point from 10 am to 11 am.

The Chandigarh Traffic Police has urged residents and commuters to plan their journeys accordingly, avoid the regulated stretches during the notified hours, and opt for alternative routes to prevent inconvenience. Motorists have also been advised to strictly follow traffic instructions issued by police personnel deployed on the ground.
