Railway police have reportedly arrested two persons involved in the twin murder of a professor and her driver in Panchkula.
Sources said property dealer Jaiveer and his accomplice Ashok Kumar were arrested immediately after the body of driver Gurdeep was recovered on Saturday near the Mansa Devi Complex railway track.
On Friday, police had recovered the body of Pramila Tiwari,a 50-year-old professor at the Institute of Science and Technology in Klawad.
The duo have admitted to the crime but we are still waiting for the post mortem report, said a railway official.
Jaiveer,a Panipat resident, used to rent out the flat of Tiwari in Panchkula to tenants.
Tiwari was angry with Jaiveer as he had rented the flat to another person without her knowledge. Last Sunday when she visited the flat, she had an argument with Jaiveer and she even slapped Jaiveers accomplice,Ashok. The two then strangulated her in the flat. Her driver, who was waiting in the car,was later called and he too was strangulated. The bodies were later covered in foam and blanket and ferried to the Chandimandir area the same night, sources said.
We suspect that there was a third person in the room.
GPR Chandigarh in-charge Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumari refused to comment about the arrests.
Tiwari and her driver were missing since November 27.
