Two burnt alive in Rohru fire

Two persons were burnt alive in Khanola village of Rohru in Shimla district when a fire broke out in a roadside eating joint,said the police.

Two persons were burnt alive in Khanola village of Rohru in Shimla district on Monday night when a fire broke out in a roadside eating joint,said the police. Exact cause of the fire is not known,but the police are suspecting it to be an unattended candle or fire place as there was no power in the area on Monday night.

The deceased are Rattan Thakur,36,of Naina Devi in Bilaspur district and Lachmi Singh (65) of Khanola. Rattan was a driver employed with the state-run HRTC bus service,while Lachmi Singh was the owner of the eating joint,where both were sleeping when the fire broke out.

The Rohru police said they got information about the fire at 10.30 pm and the fire staff reached the spot within 15 minutes,but the two could not be saved.
