To help work with kids,NGO gives training to anganwadis workers

Keeping in mind that early childhood age-span is the most crucial phase in human development,‘Sunehra Aaj’,a non-profit organisation,initiated a project known as early childhood development and education. Under this initiative,the organisation aims at upgrading the existing Anganwadis (pre-school centres).

Sunehra Aaj has adopted 24 Anganwadis of Mauli Jagran village in Chandigarh and an event ‘Train the Trainers’ was organised here on Wednesday for the workers who take care of the tiny tots.

On the occasion,B B Gupta,Director of DCM Group of schools,who has more than 32 years of experience in the education sector,conducted a skill-enhancement workshop for the trainers.

He said that the teachers’ attitudes and professional motivation can help holistic development of children.

Emphasising on active and participatory training methods,he said,“Creative expressions should be supported well. Engage the little ones with easy activities so that learning maths,science and English becomes fun”

Dr Param Preet Ghuman,Senior Medical Officer of ESI,Kharar,spoke on strategies for parent and community involvement.

President of Sunehra Aaj,Swarleen Kaur,stressed on the need to treat children as individuals. Besides,she urged,children should be raised with awareness and happiness.
