CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh’s Vasundra Thiara continued her good form as she claimed the second spot in the Category D in the USHA Army Ladies and Junior Golf Tournament which concluded on Wednesday. The youngster returned with a score of 91,91 and 94 to claim the second spot while Tanishka Kumar claimed the top spot. Earlier,Aditi Ashok overcame a terrible start of three bogeys in the first five holes,before steadying herself to a series of pars and birdies as he carded a final round of 75 to win the title. The Bengaluru golfer who brought in the week’s best card of 75,totaled 231,four better than the second placed Gursimar Badwal (78) and Mehar Atwal (79),both of who aggregated 235 each. Chandigarh’s Amandeep Drall,who was disqualified last week,shot 77 and was fourth at 237 and in fifth place was Millie Saroha 238. Raksha Phadke also shot the day’s best card 75 and totaled 239) to finish sixth.

Golf camp from today
PANCHKULA: A golf camp would be conducted by the Management of Panchkula Golf Club from June 21 to 29 every day from 9 am to 10 am,on the club’s Driving Range. As the schools and colleges are closed due to summer vacations,this camp is designed for boys and girls,women and men of all ages and will give a comprehensive view about the game of golf to beginners who want to try their hands at this game. This camp will be conducted by Ajay Gujral,golf coach. A detailed curriculum will be followed: the grip,aim,alignment,stance,posture,hitting,chipping,putting,safety,etiquette and rules of golf would be taught.
