Temperatures settle below normal in Punjab,Haryana

Punjab and Haryana continued to reel under a cold wave on Tuesday with temperatures settling at below normal in most places of the region.

Narnaul,which recorded a low of 2 degrees Celsius,was the coldest place in the two states,the MeT department said here.

Hisar braved a cold night at 3.5 degrees Celsius,down three notches than normal,while Karnal too was yet to get any relief from the cold,with the minimum settling at 4 degrees Celsius,down 3 degrees Celsius.

Cold conditions prevailed in Bhiwani,where the minimum settled two notches below normal at 4.4 degrees Celsius,while Ambala’s low was recorded at 6.7 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh recorded a night temperature of 6.1 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab,Amritsar had a cold night at 3.2 degrees Celsius while Patiala residents also faced the chill at 5 degrees Celsius minimum.

The low at Ludhiana settled at 7.2 degrees Celsius.
