Love in the time of Internet
Okay,so the big day of love is over and out,but that doesn’t mean that we can’t indulge in a bit of post mortem. In fact,Google did and here’s the trends it picked on its nosey parker of a radar. Let’s start with the city,and they found out that Chandigarh based Orkut community celebrated love online in a big way. The proof lies in a community by the name of ‘Chandigarh Geri Route Sec 11’ which is apparently one of the most active communities on Orkut from Chandigarh. It has also been voted in the top 10 regional communities on Orkut from Chandigarh,and for the V-Day,community members from here started a very interesting thread on which colour one to wear for Valentine’s. The moderator on the community also drew a colour bar with corresponding significance of the colour. For instance,if you wear blue it means you are single,if you pick to wear green it means you are still waiting,orange is for people who are going to propose and so on and so forth. As seen from the last 30 days searches on Google Insights for Search,the countdown to Valentine’s day had folks desperately searching for ‘love’. Interestingly,region-wise,Orissa tops the search for love followed by Madhya Pradesh,Gujarat,Punjab,West Bengal,Rajasthan,Kerala,Delhi,Maharashtra and Karnataka. The search has expected users looking searching frantically for love-dovey SMSes,love quotes,love lyrics and ‘lovely’ things probably they can forward or use to address their loved one’s on the day.

When it comes to the words ‘Valentine’s Day’ being punched in the google search bar,then the Capital tops with Maharastra following the lead. The Sena won’t be too happy with this one! The last 30 day searches show that V- Day was searched for maximum from Delhi and Maharashtra with users looking for Valentine day gifts,ideas,smses and e-cards.
