The camp was organised for the staff and caddies working at the Golf Range, with a focus on early detection and prevention of tuberculosis as well as major non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
On-the-spot TB screening was conducted using a hand-held AI-enabled X-ray machine, along with sputum testing through the CBNAAT system. During the camp, 55 chest X-rays were carried out and eight NAAT (CBNAAT) tests were conducted to facilitate timely and accurate diagnosis of TB.
In addition, all participants were screened for hypertension and diabetes, underlining the importance of early detection and management of non-communicable diseases.
Addressing the gathering, Suman Singh highlighted the importance of regular health screening camps and reiterated the Chandigarh Administration’s commitment to strengthening preventive healthcare services. She said such initiatives were crucial to achieving TB elimination targets while also addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases through early diagnosis and awareness.
