A sub-inspector bashed up a constable on entrance duty at the Sector-11 police station.

A sub-inspector bashed up a constable on entrance duty at the Sector-11 police station on Friday evening after the latter asked him to register his entry at the police station.

S-I Harinder Sekhon,who was in civil clothes,got infuriated after Constable Hitesh failed to recognise him and he was asked to make his entry in the register. The incident occurred at 9.30 pm .

Sekhon first slapped Hitesh and then beat him up. The constable raised a hue and cry,following which senior officers including ASP Central Desh Raj reached the spot.

The police said they will scrutinize the CCTV footage to look into the allegations. We have inspected the spot and will take further action on the basis of CCTV footage, said the ASP.

The SI had come to the police station to check seven liquor boxes seized by the police in the evening.

The constable was yet to submit a written complaint at the time of filing of this report.
