SS Singh bags weightlifting title

AC SS Singh of Training Command Air Force bagged the title in the 62 Kg (Snatch category) by lifting 98 Kg in the Air Force Weightlifting Championship which got underway at 3 BRD AF on Wednesday. CPL G Pandey of Western Air Command grabbed the second spot in the 62 Kg category while LAC Kundu bagged the third spot in the same category. AC SS Singh has been in fine form in the past few months and also represented India in the Junior Commonwealth Games held in Pune in 2007.

CPL Deepak of South Western Command won the top spot in the 56 Kg category by lifting 56 Kg. SGT Sajesh claimed the second spot in the same category. Earlier, Air Vice Marshal Ramesh Rai,Senior Air Staff Officer,Maintenance Command inaugurated the championship which will be played here till June 11. All Commands and Air Head Quarter team are participating in this tournament.

CPL Rambabu,who represented National Championship this year and won bronze medal,is also participating in this championship and he is in the core group of Commonwealth Games.
