After the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention in safeguarding the interests of Sikhs in Kashmir, Dal Khalsa, a hardliner Sikh organisation, has claimed that the SGPC was “exaggerating”.

Kanwarpal Singh, an officebearer of Dal Khalsa, claimed that Sikhs in the Valley were “safe and sound.”

He added, “I spoke to Jagmohan Singh Raina of the all Sikh co-ordination committee and Davinder Singh, a member of Hurriyat Conference. Both told me that Sikhs in the valley were not being treated badly and that the community has cordial relationship with Muslims.” ENS
