The nation may seem to be at the brink of a mass movement, thanks to the non-stop television footage of Anna Hazare’s protest that suddenly has everyone in a tizzy. With the cyber world in an overdrive already,an online reality show titled Transform India – Youth Uncensored,is now all set to stand up to the issue of Jan Lokpal Bill, corruption and a slew of other social issues in the country.

The show invites students to make videos and short films on social issues and upload their entries. The selected entries will be screened online without any editing. “The show will address social problems ranging from escalating corruption, safe sex,eve-teasing and gender discrimination — all from the perspective of the young,” explains Soumen G Choudhury,Business Head,Big FM. He adds that through the show, they hope to galvanise a movement in the youth by prompting them to be more aware.

The show will bring together teams from over 100 colleges, who will be given a socially relevant topic and later asked to upload the video of their recommendations to tackle an issue. As the show progresses, the battle between colleges will narrow down. Initially,a jury will pass a verdict on the videos and,at a later stage,it will be left open for online voting.

“The show is designed to bring out issues that the youth feels strongly about and offers them a platform for expression, serious conversation and an environment that is a ground for change,”

says Choudhury.
