Inspector Anokh Singh,Station House Officer of the Sector-36 police station,dislocated his shoulder while trying to catch three youths who were driving a motorcycle in a reckless manner,without helmets. He was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital from where he was discharged after treatment. According to the police,the SHO with his two subordinates was patrolling the Sector-35 market when he noticed three youths driving a Bullet motorcycle recklessly without helmets. The youths,in their early twenties,have been identified as Amit Walia,Raman and Maninder,all residents of Sector 35. The bike was being driven by Amit. Though the inspector signaled them to stop,they allegedly sped away. Following this,Anokh Singh,with his constables,chased the three in his gypsy. After about 100 metres,the youths collided with a cart and lost their balance. The SHO reached the spot and caught one of them. In an attempt to escape,the youth fell on the road with the SHO while the constables nabbed the other two. Constable Avtar Singh later took Anokh Singh to the hospital where doctors found a dislocated shoulder in the X-ray report. Anokh Singh said,When I saw these youths on the motorcycle without helmets,I stopped them to verify their particulars but they sped away. We nabbed them after a chase. He added that the three were issued challans for traffic violations and the motorcycle has been impounded. I have informed their parents. They have promised not to repeat the act, the injured SHO said.
