The fashionistas in the city seem to have impressed celebrity hair stylist Jawed Habib. After all,he timed his visit to Chandigarh, just before the summer heat is set to turn torrid in the region. Summer is a harsh season for ones hair, and given the fact that more than 50 percent of the hair colour jobs in the country are done in Punjab,I wanted to share some summer care tips, said Habib, who runs a salon and academy in Sector 35. Interestingly, hes coined his regime of hair care as hair yoga. Expecting him to demonstrate some yogic postures that could perhaps help in making ones locks long and strong,Habibs take was tad disappointing. Yoga is all about disciplining the body. I am relating hair yoga to lifestyle. Therefore, for better hair, better your lifestyle, explained the 46-year-old scissorhands. Habib suggests guzzling down umpteen glasses of water for a healthy mane and reiterates that sticking to an early morning walk can do wonders for ones hair. It might sound like youve heard this before but it truly works. Stress is among the biggest causes of hair loss, said Habib, who added that wispy and out-of-bed looks rule the trend charts this summer as well. Speaking of the toast of the season,Habibs all set to make his company Jawed Habib Hair & Beauty Limited (JHHBL) public. Weve approached Securities & Exchange Board of India to raise Rs 60 crore through a public issue to expand the business in India and overseas, said the visibly pleased stylist who calls his firm the McDonalds of hair business. I have corporatised the business of hair services and I am taking it forward with my training academies, said Habib, whose academies are presently in 62 Indian cities.
