The passengers of the Kalka-New Delhi Shatabdi Express remained stranded for nearly two hours at the Dappar station because of a reported technical snag on the railway line.

“An electric pole fell on the rail line near Dappar after an accident, which caused some technical fault in the electric wires,” said Station Superintendent R K Datta.

As the repair work was in progress, the passengers waited for two hours at the station. “The train left the Delhi station quite late and then it was further delayed at the Dappar station. The railway authorities should have acted responsibly and informed passengers about the time expected in correcting the technical snag,” said Rajiv Kumar,a resident of Panchkula.

The train arrived at Chandigarh around 1 pm.
