Sharma takes oath as HC judge

V K Sharma,the senior most judicial officer and Registrar General of the Himachal Pradesh High Court,was today elevated as judge of the HC raising the strength of the bench to 11,including the Chief Justice.

V K Sharma,the senior most judicial officer and Registrar General of the Himachal Pradesh High Court,was today elevated as judge of the HC raising the strength of the bench to 11,including the Chief Justice.

Acting Chief Justice R B Misra today administered the oath to Justice Sharma at a ceremony held at the High Court. CM Prem Kumar Dhumal,senior government and police officials,besides members of the Bar also attended the ceremony. Born on August 8,1952 ,Justice Sharma completed his graduation from Baijnath College and later obtained a law degree from Himachal Pradesh University.

He started practice at the High Court in 1976. Later,he shifted to Palampur for his legal practice and remained as secretary.

In 1991,Justice Sharma joined higher judicial service and served at different positions including districts and sessions judge,beside presiding officer of HP industrial tribunal-cum-labour court.
