For 2012-13,public sector power giant Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam has set a target of generating 7,000 million units under excellent parameters (EP) and earning a revenue of Rs 1,557 crore from its 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh. A MoU to this effect was signed between Union Secretary (Power) P Uma Shankar and SJVN Chairman-cum-MD R P Singh in New Delhi on Monday. SJVN has been given a target of spending 2.5 per cent of profit after tax (PAT) on sustainable development,which includes research and development activities. Thus,around Rs 25 crore will be spent on these activities, said Vijay Verma,Additional General Manager (corporate communications).
