Ravi Inder Singh,president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (1920),extended an unconditional support to the candidature of Sukhdev Singh Libra from Fatehgarh Sahib parliamentary constituency,even if he would be fielded by the Congress. “By supporting a Sikh Prime Minister during the vote of confidence on the issue of Indo-US nuclear treaty in spite of SAD’s whip,Libra has proved that he is a true Sikh and the SAD(1920) has decided to extend him an unconditional support,” Ravi Inder Singh told reporters.
When told that there were rumours that Libra might join the Congress anytime,Singh said whatever party Libra may join,the Akali Dal (1920) was committed to support him.
