Miffed, the BJP unit here boycotted a workers’ meeting organised at a dharamshala on Satha Chowk, with some claiming this was a strategic move because the SAD thinks people of the constituency won’t vote for their alliance since it has a sizeable Muslim population.
Convenor Santokh Singh said, “The way SAD is celebrating the transfer of SIT member Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh indicates that how relieved it is as it was fearing some action from SIT in the coming days.”
While one of the accused YAD leader Gurdeep Singh Gosha was arrested Tuesday, other accused Meetpal Singh Dugri surrendered in the court Wednesday. Both were sent in one-day police remand by the court.
