Oomph trooped in with oodles of attitude as the 20 finalists of the Ford Supermodel of the World took a coffee break at Barista Lavazza in Defence Colony on Friday. As they walked into the cafe,the mercury soared. The contestants,between 18 and 22 years of age,have come from the major metros of the country and have their eyes on the main Ford Supermodel title.
One of the largest international modelling competitions,Ford Supermodel of the World began in the 1980s and showcases fashion entrants from over 50 countries.
The finals for India will be held in Gurgaon on June 15,and the aspirants will wear designs by designers like Sabyasachi,Rohit and Rahul Khanna,Gauri-Nainika as well as bikinis by Srivan Naresh.
The winner will represent India at the international contest in New York in November. The girls could take tips from previous title holders Bipasha Basu and Vidisha Pavate.
