Back to the job after PCC president Kaul Singh Thakur turned down her resignation,Mayor Madhu Sood today faced unruly BJP councillors at Municipal Corporations general house meeting first one after she resigned was later allowed to retain her post .
Sensing trouble for her,she abruptly adjourned the House and left for her chamber even as the agitating members continued to raise slogans and also tried to peruse deputy Mayor Harish Janartha to re-convene the meeting in her absence.
Some of the members also threatened not to leave the house since the Mayor was never heard adjourning the house,instead she left in the huff.
The BJP councilors accused the Mayor of her total failure to run the affairs of the Municipal Corporation,carry-out development works and provide basic amenities to the citizens including tourists —who sometime even d’nt get proper toilet facility on the Mall road.
This was equally retaliated by the Congress councilors especially some of its vocal members like Maheshwar Singh ‘Pandu’ who claimed that Commissioner A.N.Sharma,who is the administrative head,should be recalled by the government.
