Twelve years and still going strong. “That is why we chose Euphoria to be the subject of our ‘rockumentary’,” says Alok Parande about his new film that encapsulates the lives of one of India’s most popular Hindi rock band,Euphoria. The film also marks a first for online social television: Nyoo TV. For the uninitiated,Nyoo TV is a product platform that uses adaptive streaming and customised mobile applications and generates revenue using video advertisements. It has exclusive content too, including movies,TV shows, entertainment, blogs and music videos. While you can check out more on http://www.nyootv.com and http://www.akgentertainment.com,the shooting for Parande’s film starts this week.

“Not many know the real story behind Euphoria’s songs or music videos. For instance,Dhoom Pichuk Dhoom was never meant to be part of an album. They were all set to shoot Shanana when they added Dhoom at the last minute. Their videos have featured famous debuts like Neha Dhupia,Vidya Balan and Rimi Sen,” says Parande, going over 14 of the best videos including Mahfooz and Mairee. “What makes them unique is their identity and the fact that they have a huge mass appeal,” he adds.

Parande explains why he did not zoom in on Indian Ocean. “Indian Ocean has a niche audience. If we want to track and understand the Hindi rock scene over a decade, then there is no better example to follow than Euphoria. Each time they come out with a song or album,it creates a ripple effect,” he adds.

Dr Sen agrees. “We are a people’s band that has survived Bollywood, rock, pop and risen against the odds. The rockumentary is a huge deal,as it will connect us to the whole world via a internet digital platform,” he adds. “The feature will be spread over 14 episodes and will be webcast every Tuesday and Friday starting September 17,the day Euphoria released their first album,Dhoom,” says Parande.

Gaurav Mendiratta, producer of the documentary and founder and president of NyooTV.com says,“We noticed a demand to have Euphoria’s popular music videos on http://www.nyootv.com and approached Dr. Sen for the necessary permission for the videos. We wanted to offer our viewers a lot more than just the videos,so we decided to produce this documentary series.” “People spend more time surfing the internet than in front of TVs and the medium of entertainment has changed. Our music is timeless and I know the Euphoria caravan will grow with this,” signs off Dr Sen who will release Euphoria’s new album at the end of the 14-part ‘rockumentary’.
