Rathore moves application for parole

Lodged in Burail jail since May 26 for molesting Ruchika Girhotra 20 years ago,former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore has moved an application before the jail superintendent seeking 30 days parole.

Rathore has stated in the application that he needs to attend to his agricultural land in Panchkula as its ready for cultivation. The application has been sent to the Panchkula district magistrate who has subsequently sent the application to the Panchkula police for further verification.

Confirming that they had received the application for parole,Maneesh Chaudhary,Superintendent of Police,Panchkula said they had examined the matter thoroughly and recommended the administration for granting parole to Rathore.

Both the Girhotra and Prakash families have been provided sufficient security cover. We feel the families will not face any problem in case Rathore comes out on parole, he stated. According to sources,it will take another week for the application to be finally decided.
