Raids conducted under Epidemic Act continue

Officials of the Medical Officer of Health,Municipal Corporation destroyed hundreds of kilos of eatables that were found unfit for consumption during raids conducted under the Epidemic Act.

The team of officials seized and destroyed 110 kg rotten fruits and vegetables,16 slabs of ice,16 crates of aerated water bottles,60 kg sugar cane juice,165 kg of sweets and other eatable articles,140 kg fast food and 70 kg meat and poultry.

The raids were conducted at Colony No 5,Dadumajra Colony,Sectors 11,12,15,32,34,37,38 and 33. The unfit food material seized was taken to the dumping ground in a truck and dumped there.

The Municipal Corporation issued an advisory and asked the residents not to consume exposed or rotten fruits,drink water from safe sources and to wash hands properly,among other things.
