Pukhraj sets up MCA final march

Riding high on a solid century from Pukhraj Singh (115),Mohali Cricket Association entered the final of U-16 St Stephen's Trophy being organised by DP Azad Cricket Academy with a 124-run win over Desh Prem Azad Academy on Sunday.

Batting first,MCA dominated the proceedings throughout the match. Their batting centered around Pukhraj,while Shine Sharma also played well and contributed vital 83 runs. Pukhraj smashed eight boundaries and seven sixes during his knock,while Sharma’s innings included 11 boundaries and two huge sixes.

Shivam Puri further swelled the team’s total by scoring 39 runs,while Ravi Saini contributed 37 runs. In the end,MCA were able to post a challenging total of 332 for 9 in their innings. Jagpreet Singh claimed three wickets,while Lovejit Singh bagged two wickets.

In reply,Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy were bundled out for 228 runs in 39.2 overs. Lovejeet Singh played a valiant knock of 90 runs but his effort went in vain as the team lost by 124 runs. Singh smashed eight boundaries and eight sixes during his knock. Jagpreet Singh added important 39 runs to the team’s total score as he smashed three boundaries and two sixes during his knock.

For the winning team,Ravi Saini claimed three wickets for 26 runs,while Amritpal Singh took two wickets for 18 runs.
