Syndicate will also appoint a standing committee to deal with cases of alleged misconduct, use of unfair means

Panjab University (PU) students who could not clear their golden chance in the last session might get an opportunity to appear in another exam in the forthcoming annual examination.

The PU Syndicate, in its January 25 meeting, is likely to grant these students another chance.

A proposal to this effect was mooted keeping in view the semester system, which will be followed in all departments. Syndicate member Dr Gurdip Kumar Sharma said, “It will benefit students as many of them could not clear their golden chance in the last academic session, which is why most students had demanded another golden chance.”

The second golden chance will be given to all graduate and post-graduate students of all departments at PU.

The Syndicate will also appoint a standing committee to deal with cases of alleged misconduct and use of unfair means during examinations and come up with criteria for internal assessment weightage and for passing students with severe disabilities.

Among other things a fee structure will be presented for international students, an academic calendar for teaching department/ regional centres of PU and its affiliated colleges will be finalised and guidelines be formed for relaxation given to a candidate for submission of his/her Phd synopsis over and above the prescribed period.
