Four students sustains severe burns in Odisha’s Rayagada district
A 45-year-old security guard died by suicide after shooting himself with his licensed revolver in Kandivali on Monday evening. The reason behind the incident is not clear and the police have not found any suicide note from the deceased’s house. The Samta Nagar police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the matter.
The deceased, identified as Prabhakar Ojha, 45, lives in the Poisar area in Kandivali with his wife and two sons aged 14 years and 12 years. He was working as a private security guard in a jewellery shop in MIDC area, Andheri.
According to the police, Ojha went to work as usual on Monday morning, and he returned home from work around 4pm. He did not speak to anyone in the family, as his wife and younger son were at home.
He locked himself in a room in the house and shot himself with his licensed revolver in his head. The family members and neighbours informed the police. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, and the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival, said a police officer of the Santa Nagar police station.
A forensic team reached the spot. It is not clear yet why he allegedly killed himself. The exact circumstances will become clear only after investigation. Now the family members are in shock, said the officer.
