In another bout in the same category,Paraminder of Punjab scored an easy 10-5 win over Ajay. Parminder who was playing from the red corner,did not give Ajay many chances to attack and made some fine counter moves to seal the win. With the win,Parminder booked a semi-final berth for himself in the light heavy-weight category.

It was also easy picking for Rahul of Madhya Pradesh as he scored a facile 5-0 win over Anil of Himchal Pradesh in a one-sided encounter,while Amit of Delhi ended the challenge of Sanjeev of Railways with a 10-7 win. In the middle-weight category,Rahul of Railways ended the challenge of Deepak of Chandigarh A with a 10-3 win,while Raninder of Madhya Pradesh claimed a narrow 3-2 win over Rakesh of Himachal Pradesh.

In the heavy-weight category (91 kg),Youdeep got a walkover from Sujeet. Sajesh of Tamil Nadu scored a win over Mohsin of Maharashra through RSOC. In the light-weight category (60),Amarjeet of Haryana scored an 8-3 win over Narender of Punjab. In the fly-weight category (52 Kg),Vijay of Maharashtra scored a 5-0 win over Dheeraj in a one-sided encounter,while Shah outplayed Devender of Haryana 6-0 .

In another encounter,Vijander of Punjab scored a narrow 5-4 win over Mukesh of Chandigarh A,while Monu of Chandigarh B ended the challenge of Sanjay of ASI through RSC. In the bantam-weight (56 Kg) category,Paramjeet of Chandigarh B scored a narrow 3-2 win over Mitra of Madhya Pradesh,while Vishwanath of AIR scored an emphatic 11-1 win over Manoj.

In another encounter in the same category,Kamal of Army outclassed Sandeep 10-3,while Sunny of Haryana scored a narrow 3-2 win over Mithun of Manipur.
