Bina Goenka has been catering to the world with a style of jewellery that’s as much art as it is luxury

One look at the pieces and it’s hard to not look at them all over again. In fact it’s rather difficult to define the jewellery at hand for it’s anything like jewellery one’s accustomed to seeing. “Precisely what I have in mind while I put it all together,” admits the lady who has dressed up fashionistas across the globe,created private collections for the rich and famous and exported jewellery that isn’t just luxurious but also works of art. “It’s a contemporary mix of creativity clubbed with fine technology,” is how Bina Goenka likes to put it. While the jewellery is fun,dynamic and always ‘in vogue’,it’s the work that goes into making it that makes Goenka a leader of her tribe. “The advantages that brand Bina Goenka offers is not just restricted to design but also production. That’s where I like to step in,” points out Goenka who is all set to offer Chandigarh a view of her collection at Hotel Taj this November 23 and 24. “I like to design for the modern Indian woman,one who doesn’t want to be a fashion victim but is a mature exponent of understated elegance. The key is to incorporate subtle and intricate design elements that set them apart and also introduce the intrigue aspect,” says Goenka. Her inspirations,she admits,has always been nature. “I am fascinated by it. Though it’s difficult to replicate natural beauty,my endeavour has always been to seek inspiration from it. Just as one connects to nature,one can identify with my jewellery creations,” says Bina as we look forward to her jewellery showcase in the city..”
