A review of the work being taken up in different wards would be started in the Municipal Corporation next week. Mayor Anu Chatrath will review the projects that have been undertaken using the ward development fund and the MPLAD fund. MC officials and councillors of the respective wards would also be involved in the review.

The city is divided into 26 wards and work in all the wards would be reviewed within a week. A list of all the pending work has been prepared.

Chatrath said,“Work being done by different departments, including the Engineering Wing,Public Health Wing and the Horticulture department, will be reviewed. This would enable us to plan the future course of action. The councillors’ complaints regarding the slow pace of work would also be taken up.”

Councillors of some of the wards have complained time and again about work not being completed on time. Some have complained that the delay in execution, apart from causing inconvenience to the residents, also leads to increase in the cost of the project.

The civic body would also be announcing the names of the members of the sub-committees on Monday.

There are 12 sub-committees of the Municipal Corporation, including water supply and sewerage disposal, roads, sanitation, electricity, house tax assessment, fire and emergency services and enforcement.

After the Mayoral elections are held, new members are appointed to the committees.
