Nepotism in Panchkula plot allotment,Hooda aides getting better deal: INLD

There is no end to Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s largesse of good will.

There is no end to Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s largesse of good will. The latest set of industrial plots allotted by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) in Panchkula has gone to VIPs,mostly those known to be close to the chief minister, alleged Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Saturday as they released details of those who had been allotted industrial plots on July 2.

Allotment of these plots, some as big as 1,000 sqm in Panchkula was done on the basis of an interview of applicants by HUDA’s standing committee and the CM,and the HUDA chairman reportedly approved of it. Allotments at the chief minister’s office are handled by his principal secretary Chattar Singh.

Allotment is done after evaluating the industrial project proposal put forth by the applicants. Only when the committee is convinced that an applicant will be able to start and run the industry is allotted land. The rate,at which the plot is given,is generally much lower than the market rate of the area. This subsidy is given to encourage genuine industrialists to set up base in HUDA’s industrial belts.

However, the list of these allottees leaves much to be desired. INLD claimed that barring a few,who despite being close to the chief minister or his aides were genuine industrialists, most others might not be able to see their projects through.
