Nuh, Punhana and Ferozepur Jhirka constituencies have eluded the BJP since the first election in Haryana in 1967, despite the party occasionally giving tickets to candidates from the dominant community.
A practising lawyer, Karundeep was active in politics from his college days. He did his schooling from Panchkula itself before attending DAV college, Chandigarh and later moving to a college affiliated to Punjabi University from where he received his law degree.
"We are very happy that they have today become part of Congress family. We all know how Ashok Arora played a vital role in strengthening INLD at state level. Congress party has gained immense strength with such leaders joining us," state Congress chief Kumari Selja said.
After a split in the INLD in 2018 and humiliating defeat in the recent Lok Sabha polls, a feeling has gained ground in a section of its leaders that the party won’t return to the power in 2019 Assembly polls.
