Three days after Newsline reported about the non-availability of textbooks in books shops, the ‘missing’ computer books found their way across the city. The books — Computer learning book and Hindi grammar book — for Classes VI-X,both by Vishvas Publications, can now be procured from books stores in Sector 15,22,27,31,23.

While the non-availability of books harassed parents as well as students, the publisher, defended the delay claiming there was no demand for the books due to which they were not distributed to the dealers. “Textbooks are provided to dealers according to the demand. We did not receive any intimation from them that there was any requirement because of which certain book stores were not sent the supply. Texts have been sent to all the stores now,” said H S Sachar, director,Vishvas Publications.

While some of the book sellers confirmed that the titles are now available with them, others said they are still waiting. “We have not received any consignment from the publishers yet. Though we had communication our needs, the order has not reached us so far,” said a bookseller in Sector 19.
