Another case of beating up of a maid has come to notice in Panchkula. Preeti (13),a resident of Rajiv Colony,Sector 17,came to register a complaint against her employers today along with her parents Dhruv Raj and Reeta but the Sector 16 police post of refused to entertain them. According to Dhruv Raj,Preeti started working as a maid in Sector 6 from last Friday and was living there.

“On Sunday,I was informed by a servant at the house that my daughter wanted to meet me. On Monday evening,I met her and she refused to work there,” he said.

“The old couple was abusive to me,” complained Preeti. “Today,the daughter of the couple came to our house and searched it. She complained that my daughter had stolen a gold chain. I was not present at home at that time. She took my daughter to get a case registered against her,” said Dhruv Raj.

“But she took Preeti to her house in Sector 15,where she was beaten,” he added. “I was beaten with a stick and slapped. I told her that I swear I had not stolen anything. But she was not ready to listen to me,” claimed Preeti. Her face was also swollen.

Meanwhile,ASI Shish Pal refused to register a case. “As the occurrence of the crime was in Sector 15,the police post of that sector will register the case,” he said. Panchkula SP Maneesh Chaudhry said that he would get a case registered.

In an another case,on February 26,the Panchkula police had booked a retired government official and his family members who were residing in Sector 7,for enforcing bonded labour and beating an 11-year-old maid.
