Minimum wages of daily labourers revised

The Chandigarh Administration has increased the basic daily and monthly rates of minimum wages for daily and monthly rated employees as per the Consumer Price Index Number of the Chandigarh centre for the half year ending September 2009. The monthly minimum wages for all the categories including Class I,II,III,IV,highly-skilled,semi-skilled and their further classifications have been increased by about Rs 178 to Rs 230,depending on the category with effect from October 1.The minimum rates of wages are payable for daily and monthly rated employees for the period starting from October 1,2009 to March 31,2010 (both days inclusive).
