Manpreet bats for ‘gracious’ Capt

The People’s Party of Punjab president Manpreet Badal on Friday came out in support of Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh and said that the former CM was not allowed to hold a public meeting at a marriage palace in Majitha owing to reign of terror unleashed by the ruling SAD-BJP alliance on the Opposition. “We need to protest against not only oppressive and punitive taxation but also infringement of civil liberties,” Manpreet,who is also the Sanjha Morcha chairman,said.

The Morcha,which submitted a memo to Governor Shivraj Patil against the imposition of new taxes in the state,in a meeting held later in the day decided to call upon Amarinder to and hold a meeting of all Opposition parties to create consensus on broader issues confronting the state.
