Man drowns in Morni

One person was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Morni. Rajender (26) — a resident of Preet Colony in Zirakpur — had come along with his five friends to Buran village on Saturday. The incident took place when were decided to take a bath in a stream in the village. The youths were in an inebriated condition. Following the incident,the youth was shifted to Community Health Centre at Kalka,where he was declared dead on arrival. According to Vinod,Raj Sharma,Virender,Narender and Pardeep — who were at the spot when the incident took place — they went into the stream to take a bath but Rajender lost his balance and drowned. When they raised an alarm,Dhanpal — a villager — jumped into the water and fished out Rajender. Morni police post in-charge ASI Mahmood Khan said the postmortem report will ascertain the real cause of death.
