Luxe Stop

One meeting in Pune, and Mercedes-Benz India has changed dealerships across the country.

One meeting in Pune, and Mercedes-Benz India has changed dealerships across the country. In Chandigarh,it’s moved on to Joshi Autozone Pvt. Ltd,Industrial Area Phase II and today saw a grand inauguration of the state-of-the-art dealership by Debashish Mitra,Director Sales & Marketing,Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd and Deepak Joshi,Director,Joshi Autozone Pvt. Ltd. Spread over an area of 13,500 sq. ft,the new Merc stop is equipped with ultra modern 3-S integrated facility offering a one-stop solution for sales, service and spares. This is second after Jalandhar, and it has a luxurious customer lounge,drive-in valet service, and a team of 65 personnel. The service center is equipped with five mechanical bays. According to Mitra, the change was inevitable post the review of dealerships across India. “We have to offer our customer the best, hence the change,” he says, his company now focusing on the M-Class. “All our efforts are directed towards increasing market penetration and driving demand with the latest and the finest products from our stable,” Mitra says Merc sales have seen a 40 per cent increase compares to last year and Punjab makes for 8 to 10 per cent of their market.

After Skoda launching its portal,we wonder if Mercedes would go in for it too – “I don’t think so. When you have a crore plus product at your hand, you don’t want to go online with it. You want the customer to feel like a king, check the product,be satisfied, have a personal experience and then go in for it. So,an online portal with sales, purchase and other info is out question,” he feels. While the Mercedes-Benz golf tourney has produced a number of top rankers, their fashion show,Mitra says, might come back to Asia. Let’s hope!
