Hair and skin experts dish out career-friendly advise
Ever wondered how even after a tedious,long-haul flight that extends into many hours, the air-hostess greeting you on you way out looks fresh as a daisy? Its a tad hard to imagine how her hairs in place and the makeup is intact! Being presentable is of utmost importance in the aviation industry, we hear the lady dressed in white address a group of students at the Flying Cats, the air hostess training academy in Sector 8. Shes Esther Kinder, technical educator with the international Keune Academy and this Tuesday saw her come to Flying Cats along with hair advisor Wasim Ahmed to conduct a grooming workshop for the students. For a career as an air hostess, students need to look at grooming very seriously. Thats where we step in, mentioned Kinder who has worked out a special module for students of BBA,Aviation,Tourism and Hospitality and Air Hostess Training. Not only does the makeup have to be stylish but it must be subtle, long lasting and in sync with the outfit, explained Esther to the students who furiously took down notes. So in came step-by-step guidelines to perfect makeup and skin care. These days a pearl finish makeup also known as natural makeup works best for those on the move. The idea is to look pretty and fresh without being made up, explained the expert who was also happy to guide the young learners on products and home remedies.
The workshop, that ran all day long, also brought in sessions on skin and hair maintenance, self styling, skin and hair analysis, face contouring and umpteen practical demos. If you are on a long flight and the hair looks oily, then just sprinkle on some talc on to your hair brush and watch the immediate result, pitched in Ahmed as he analysed hair types and explained best suited looks. For career women,Ahmed advises: Hair should be clean and always in place. Also work out a look that best suits your face as well as goes with the job. Got it!
